Q: What is massage?
A: Massage is a mechanical form of therapy in which the soft tissues are made more pliable, promoting increased blood flow and healing. Back to questions.

Q: What kind of treatment does Essential Life Therapy provide?
A: Treatment massage for injuries, general swedish massage, deep tissue massage, myofascial, cranial sacral, Lomi Lomi, pregnancy massage, reflexology, and sports massage. Back to questions.

Q: What kind of training did the massage therapists go through?
A: All of our massage therapists went through rigorous training that includes anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology and hands-on massage hours. They have all exceeded the WA state requirement minimum of 500 hours. In addition to regular class hours, all of them have participated in continuing education courses to keep their skills current. Q: Are the massage therapists licensed and insured?
A: Yes, all of our massage therapists are licensed and insured. Our acupuncturist is also appropriately licensed and insured. Back to questions.

Q: Do you accept health insurance?
A: We accept and bill for auto accident (PIP), workers compensation (L&I)and select personal health insurance. Please confirm your insurance company will cover the visit. Back to questions.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: If you need to cancel your appointment, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours advanced notice. Back to questions.

Q: Will I be charged if I miss my appointment?
A: Unfortunately, yes. You will be billed a flat $50.00 fee for any scheduled appointment missed without a 24 hour advanced notice. We require credit card information to book appointments for couples massage and charge for the entire cost of the missed appointment. Back to questions.

Q: How can I help make my massage experience an effective one?
A: It's very important to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water prior to and after your massage. Water provides valuable hydration to your muscular and connective tissues, allowing your body to benefit from the effects of your massage several days after your session. In addition to drinking water, be sure to come to your appointment on time, and turn your cell phone off. Back to questions.

Q: Can I buy gift certificates for my friends and family?
A: Of course you can! In fact, if you have a massage membership you can buy unlimited discounted gift certificates ! Call or email to purchase. We can mail it to the recipient or arrange a time for you to pick up the gift certificate in person. Back to questions.
